Transcript for Unnamed Show Episode #4
Brendan King:
Hey, what's going on everybody. This is Brendan King from the Brendan King Group, and I am here with...
Jack Palermo:
Jack Palermo, also of the Brendan King Group.
Brendan King:
And we are here for the unnamed show, number four.
Jack Palermo:
Volume four. On number four, volume four.
Brendan King:
Yes, that's right. Still unnamed, and we kind of like it that way, actually, for now. We're kind of enjoying the name.
Jack Palermo:
It's kind of fun. I like it. I liked it a lot.
Brendan King:
I like that it's creative. Yeah, it's very creative. So unnamed show, episode number four. First of all, as always, please text Aviators to 702-553-1955. Text Aviators to 702-553-1955. We have a couple of games coming up, actually, where we have two sets of tickets, four tickets, all behind home plate. So we'll be giving away, I think, the next four games they have another home stand. So if you would like some tickets, what do they have to do?
Jack Palermo:
Text Aviators to 553-1955. What's good about these-
Brendan King:
702.
Jack Palermo:
Oh, 702-553-1955. What's good about these tickets, they're not in the sun if it's an evening game, which is great.
Brendan King:
That's true. I actually looked at the map and noticed that the sun literally stops one row in front of us. So I picked the ones that are when it's 110, we actually have some shade.
Jack Palermo:
It's actually pretty nice. Yes. Yes, it is.
Brendan King:
So we're lucky on that. So there is huge news.
Jack Palermo:
What?
Brendan King:
Huge, massive news.
Jack Palermo:
Oh, my God. What is this news?
Brendan King:
It's massive, massive news. Congratulations to Jack and Chekesha, almost. They are getting married next week, July 22nd.
Jack Palermo:
I am getting married. I am more than excited. I am super stoked. Can't wait. It's going to be a beautiful day.
Brendan King:
And I don't think there's a single person we know that doesn't like Chekesha, so that's a plus. That is definitely a plus, but yes-
Jack Palermo:
It's a plus for me.
Brendan King:
Jack's getting married next week in Hawaii and-
Jack Palermo:
It's going to be wonderful.
Brendan King:
We couldn't be happier for him, the whole team, by the way, congrats ahead of time.
Jack Palermo:
Thank you.
Brendan King:
We'll be thinking of you on July 22nd. He's going to come back a married man.
Jack Palermo:
I know, and she makes me a better man. She really does.
Brendan King:
Actually, that's true.
Jack Palermo:
She really does.
Brendan King:
That is true.
Jack Palermo:
She is my better half. Yes, absolutely.
Brendan King:
Yeah, well, you know what? I could say the same about Amy too. Are you guys watching? I hope the ladies are watching. Watch this episode. You have to watch. What's going on with the weather, Jack?
Jack Palermo:
Well, monsoon season has arrived. I myself live in north Summerlin, and it's been raining every night for the last three nights. It's been beautiful. It's been wonderful.
Brendan King:
I actually woke up one night and watched the lightning. My whole family was asleep. Nobody was awake, not even the dog, and I went outside and I watched the lightning go off for like two hours.
Jack Palermo:
It's the craziest thing.
Brendan King:
It was amazing, yeah.
Jack Palermo:
It's the craziest thing.
Brendan King:
So, for all you people not in Vegas, lightning is an unusual thing, as well as rain, especially the last two years. So those of you making fun of us, lightning is an amazing thing.
Jack Palermo:
Me being from Chicago, and you from Jersey, we saw a lot of lightning and rain in our days. So it's a big year.
Brendan King:
Oh yeah, I hid in my bedroom, in the corner, because I was scared of it as a kid.
Jack Palermo:
It's never here, so it's wonderful when it does show up.
Brendan King:
Yeah, it is. It is for sure.
Jack Palermo:
We love it.
Brendan King:
What else is going on besides the fact that it's raining? Is it helping?
Jack Palermo:
It's not helping our water supply. Lake Mead is pretty low at the moment. So it could be, in the future, some sort of a water problem for sure.
Brendan King:
Yeah. And from rumors that I've heard, it could mean some strong restrictions in Vegas and California. We could lose a lot of, I guess they say ornamental grass, any grass that's not useful, meaning fields and play areas. But we'll see what happens. Hopefully, fingers crossed, we get 80 inches of rain in the next two weeks.
Jack Palermo:
That would be pretty amazing.
Brendan King:
But yeah, in the photo here, you can see that we call it the bathtub line. The bathtub line in Lake Mead has been dropping like crazy. So I hope everything turns around soon. It doesn't look like it will anytime soon, but yeah, the rain is welcomed.
Jack Palermo:
Yes. We like rain. We like rain now.
Brendan King:
We'll take rain all day long.
Jack Palermo:
Yes. Makes us smile.
Brendan King:
So I know there's another big set of news. Obviously we're not short on resorts in Las Vegas, but this one's a big one.
Jack Palermo:
Resorts World.
Brendan King:
Not state. Not city.
Jack Palermo:
Not city. It's Resorts World. It opened June 24th. It is ginormous. It is across from the Wynn and the Encore. You have 40 new restaurants, 3,500 rooms. there is a 100,000 square foot LED screen on the side of the building. You can't miss it.
Brendan King:
Which is actually pretty amazing.
Jack Palermo:
You can't miss it. It's huge.
Brendan King:
It's massive. Yeah.
Jack Palermo:
It is huge. Very cool stuff. Yeah. It looks like a beautiful resort.
Brendan King:
How much did this thing cost?
Jack Palermo:
A lot.
Brendan King:
$4.3 billion.
Jack Palermo:
That's a lot. That is a lot.
Brendan King:
$4.3 billion, which is insane. And I know there's a couple new headliners going in there.
Jack Palermo:
Celine Dion.
Brendan King:
Okay.
Jack Palermo:
Carrie Underwood. Luke Bryan.
Brendan King:
And there's a DJ, right?
Jack Palermo:
Yes. It will be Zedd. Zedd is the DJ. I think he's going to be doing the day club that's there.
Brendan King:
Celine Dion just keeps on ticking.
Jack Palermo:
Yes. Oh, Katy Perry as well.
Brendan King:
Oh, nice. I didn't know that actually.
Jack Palermo:
Yes, Katy Perry as well.
Brendan King:
Oh, that's kind of a good mix actually. It's completely different.
Jack Palermo:
Yeah. A little pop, a little DJs, a little country. Yeah.
Brendan King:
Cool.
Jack Palermo:
Good stuff.
Brendan King:
Yeah. $4.3 billion, 40 restaurants. Here's one thing about Vegas that I love is in the past, I've been here 11 years. How long have you been here?
Jack Palermo:
Six.
Brendan King:
Six years. I literally feel like we've added probably 1,000 restaurants in that small period of time, not only on the strip, but also in the suburbs as well. And one of my favorite places to learn about all these restaurants and everything is actually Eater Las Vegas, the website. I know we got the information on this from Eater Las Vegas.
Jack Palermo:
They'll break down each restaurant there for you.
Brendan King:
Oh yeah. Check out the site. Honestly, it's an awesome reference for anything food-related in Vegas. It's definitely worth checking out for sure. What is going on? Oh, yes. I have not been to this place yet, but I've driven by, I swear to you, probably 10 times and the line is insane.
Brendan King:
So Dave's Hot Chicken is coming to Vegas. They're actually already open, so that's why there's a line. So it's actually a chef that worked with Thomas Keller. If anybody knows who Thomas Keller is, over at Bouchon. And he left and started a little pop-up in LA and now it's franchised and it's coming to Vegas and there is insane lines right now.
Jack Palermo:
Insane.
Brendan King:
I haven't had time to stop and have a taste, but I've had hot chicken before, Nashville hot chicken, and that's exactly what this is. He took some of his expertise in cooking and put it toward hot chicken, which that combo to me sounds like a mouthwatering-
Jack Palermo:
Delicious.
Brendan King:
Delicious recipe for something real good. So when I check it out, I'll let you guys know. Maybe we'll spend a lunch there after we you get back from-
Jack Palermo:
Maybe we'll video it too.
Brendan King:
From getting married. I'm actually going to Disney World next week and he's getting married. Two very different trips but-
Jack Palermo:
Both fun.
Brendan King:
When we get back, I'm going to check out Dave's Hot Chicken. We'll let you know how it is. But honestly, from the line, I think it's probably-
Jack Palermo:
Yeah. It's going to be pretty...
Brendan King:
I could already say it's pretty good. What's going on next, Jack?
Jack Palermo:
The Olympics are starting July 23rd, opening ceremony. Normally I would watch it, but I may-
Brendan King:
Why? What's going on the day before?
Jack Palermo:
Well, the day before I'm getting married. So if that's the case, I don't know if I'm going to be watching.
Brendan King:
Nothing's more romantic than the next morning, waking up and watching the Olympics all day long.
Jack Palermo:
Yes, it starts at 7:00 AM Eastern time. So in Hawaii, God, 2:00 AM probably would have to wake up. I don't think so. But anyway-
Brendan King:
Wedding night, just stay up, watch the Olympics.
Jack Palermo:
The Olympics is going to be great. The Olympics is going to be great.
Brendan King:
It's going to be a different one, of course. No crowds, I think?
Jack Palermo:
No crowds.
Brendan King:
No crowds at all. I know a few athletes have already tested positive, but I think, you know what? Either way, no matter how it's going to shape up, I think it's going to be really nice to watch and see the Olympics after so long.
Jack Palermo:
Absolutely.
Brendan King:
This will be five years instead of four, right?
Jack Palermo:
Yeah.
Brendan King:
For at least summer Olympics. So definitely both excited to see this. Tune in Friday, July 23rd at 7:00 AM Eastern time. Back to entertainment. A lot of entertainment news as things open up, I know Cirque du Soleil is back and lots of things going on, but Usher is actually making his debut at Caesars tonight. So today's July 16th. Ushers.
Jack Palermo:
Usher.
Brendan King:
Ushers will escort you to your seat to watch Usher. So July 16th at Caesars, which is today, Usher is in Vegas, which is cool. I know I grew up listening to some Usher. Actually, one of our guys that does a lot of our videos is one of the head camera operators. So good luck tonight, Cameron. I know you just got the job, so congrats. And I believe another guy from Love that I used to work with is also there. So good luck. Usher tonight, July 16th. Check it out.
Jack Palermo:
Check it out.
Brendan King:
Entertainment's back.
Jack Palermo:
I love it.
Brendan King:
Yeah. Honestly, what was at the Raiders...
Jack Palermo:
They just had Garth Brooks last weekend.
Brendan King:
Garth Brooks. And it was sold out. Looked amazing. Everybody that I talked to said it was a awesome concert. I heard they're working out the sound a little bit. It was the first concert they had. But that's normal in the live venue. Sound's not going to be perfect day one. But I heard it was an amazing concert and soon there'll be football games there.
Jack Palermo:
Can't wait.
Brendan King:
How many days are we from that?
Jack Palermo:
We're nine. I think nine weeks away from opening day.
Brendan King:
That's exciting.
Jack Palermo:
I'm just ready for week five when my Chicago Bears go there. That's all I'm saying.
Brendan King:
And there are still rumors, while we're on sports, floating around that the A's are coming to Vegas. It's not official. It is official. They're teasing us kind of like a high-speed train to LA. But every day, we've been getting some info about... Not every day. Every once in a while, there's been some huge rumors going around that maybe the A's are coming here. I don't know. We'll see.
Jack Palermo:
We'll see. It'd be great if they did.
Brendan King:
Not like we need more. No, we can take more sports. Yeah. We'll take it.
Jack Palermo:
We can take more sports.
Brendan King:
And again, don't forget, Aviators tickets giveaway opportunity. Text Aviators to 702-553-1955. David's computer is low on battery, as you can see in the top right corner.
Jack Palermo:
702-553-1955.
Brendan King:
702-553. You should have seen David off camera just now scrambling to get rid of the low battery symbol on the screen, but I thought that was great. Either way, thanks for tuning in. I think everybody in the city of Las Vegas should say congrats to Jack and Chekesha, the Palermo wedding of the year, July 22nd. Let's all cross our fingers for good weather and a great event.
Jack Palermo:
It's going to be amazing.
Brendan King:
But, congrats, man.
Jack Palermo:
Thank you.
Brendan King:
That's very cool.
Jack Palermo:
Much appreciated.
Brendan King:
Text Aviators, 702-553-1955. David, go charge your computer. That's the unnamed show, episode number four. Have a good weekend, everybody.
Jack Palermo:
See you.
